2002 QUARTERBACK PROSPECTS

1.JASON THOMAS - UNLV - Junior
6'4 - 240 - 4.6
A big, strong guy who may be the best athlete playing QB in all of College Football. Has a cannon and is developing nice touch. Could be a franchise type player if he progresses. Think Daunte Culpepper minus a few pounds.
2.JOEY HARRINGTON - Oregon - Senior
6'3 - 215 - 4.7
Not a fabulous athlete, just gets the job done. Throws a very nice and catchable ball. Has the intangibles needed to succeed. Is considered a 1st Round pick but just where (top 10 or late 1st) will depend on this season.
3.DAVID GERRARD - East Carolina - Senior
6'3 - 235 - 4.65
Gerrard is a big athlete. He runs like a Fullback and is as big as most of them too. Has a pretty strong arm but accuracy and reads need work. Has great potential which makes him a late 1st to early 2nd Round prospect.
4.CARSON PALMER - USC - Senior
6'5 - 215 - 4.8
Has been a perrenial prospect. This is the year Palmer needs to realize that potential and show that he is a worthy 1st Round pick. Otherwise, he could take a real fall.
5.CHRIS SIMS - Texas - Junior
6'5 - 210 - 4.75
Another great prospect who hasn't fulfilled his potential yet. Sims had some big games late in 2001 which show he is ready to become a great player. He has the size and the arm to do it.
6.BYRON LEFTWICH - Marshall - Junior
6'5 - 220 - 4.7
Could move a long way up the charts. Has great size and a good arm. Throws the short to intermediate routes very well. Not a burner but moves well enough. Has as much talent as the guys at the top.
7.GEORGE GODSEY - Georgia Tech - Senior
6'2 - 210 - 4.8
Came out of nowhere to become one of College Football's best. A knee injury in the Peach Bowl is a slight concern but at any rate, a slinger who is a better pro prospect than his predecessor Joe Hamilton.
8.ROHAN DAVEY - LSU - Senior
6'3 - 239 - 4.6
A big QB. Looks like a Fullback and runs like one. But Davey has shown that he is a pretty accomplished passer. He's also a gamer, cool under pressure bringing LSU back from defeat in two games last season.
9.KURT KITTNER - Illinois - Senior
6'3 - 205 - 4.8
Think Drew Brees only a little slower. Kittner can thorw the ball that's for sure. But he's not as prolific as Brees. Accurate but not athletic, Kittner is a QB who is solid but just doesn't have much upside potential.
10.DAVID NEILL - Nevada - Senior
6'5 - 215 - 4.85
A tall pocket passer who thrives in a pass happy offense. It would be easy to call Neill a product of the system but his size and accuracy make him a good prospect.

UNDERRATED
WAYNE MADKIN - Mississippi State - Senior
6'4 - 220 - 4.65

Madkin is a nice sized athlete who plays with pain and is a good leader. He has good arm strength but accuracy is one of his downfalls. Also, playing in a run oriented offense, he hasn't thrown a lot of passes downfield.

SLEEPER
QUINN GRAY - Florida A&M - Senior
6'3 - 215 - 4.7

Gray is another good athlete who hasn't gotten much attention playing in the MEAC. The NFL should take notice because besides his running Gray is also a pretty good passer who would be a nice developmental prospect.
