| Jeff Backus is one of four Michigan Offensive Lineman in the draft and one of three who are possible 1st Round picks. Backus, like most Michigan linemen, is tough and rugged. His run blocking is superb. When he locks on, he is a nasty blocker and goes until the whistle blows. As a pass blocker he is solid but lacks the quickness to stay with speedier edge rushers. For this reason, Backus may make a move from Left Tackle to Right Tackle in the pros. Backus is an all around solid lineman who can set the tone and the attitude for an offensive line. He should be in this league for a long time even if he's not a star. Expect Backus' name to come up around the middle of the 1st Round, he shouldn't slide out of the 1st. |  |
