1.DEUCE McALLISTER - Senior - Mississippi
6'1  220  4.38
Outstanding receiver out of the backfield and a game breaking runner. Only question is durability.

2.MICHAEL BENNETT - Junior - Wisconsin
5'10  210  4.3
Quick, compact back with a track background. Hasn't had to block or catch a lot in college. Inexperienced.

3.LaDAINIAN TOMLINSON - Senior - Texas Christian
5'10  220  4.38
Very productive at TCU. Has a great burst and breaks a lot of tackles. Not a great blocker, learning to be a receiver.

4. LAMONT JORDAN - Senior - Maryland
5'10  220  4.6
Reminds some of Emmitt Smith. Tough, durable runner who isn't blazing, but has a burst. A very capable receiver

5.TRAVIS HENRY - Senior - Tennessee
5'10  225  4.5
Good inside runner. Started over current Raven Jamal Lewis. Has good toughness. Decent enough receiver.

(ABOVE) Deuce McAllister could be the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. He has great running and receiving skills.

Tennessee's unheralded Travis Henry is not getting a lot of the attention that McAllister or Tomlinson are, but his tough running style could find him a 2nd Round pick.

RUDI JOHNSON - Junior - Auburn
5'10  230  4.55
SEC OPOY in his first year at Auburn. Only one year of big time college football. Open field speed is a question.

ANTHONY THOMAS - Senior - Michigan
6'2  225  4.6
The A-Train is a tough runner with great balance. He is a good receiver who may be moved to FB. Has fumbled.

JAMES JACKSON - Senior - Miami
5'10  205  4.4
A very fast, explosive back. Can make big plays. His role may be as a third down back. Good hands.

KEVAN BARLOW - Senior - Pittsburgh
6'1  240  4.55
Big but quick. Tough to bring down. Needs to improve as a blocker and a receiver. Needs to cut down on fumbles.

TRAVIS MINOR - Senior - Florida State
6'1  185  4.45
A small, quick scatback type who will likely end up as a third down back. Excellent hands.

Auburn's Rudi Johnson is a tough runner who can get the tough yards. However, this JUCO transfer has only one year of major college experience so the best move for him is going back to Auburn.

Michigan's A-Train Anthony Thomas is the Wolverine's all time leading rusher.
His size and receiving ability may be enough for him to move to Fullback in the NFL.

MAURICE CLARK - Eastern Kentucky
CHARLES DUNN - Portland State
ANTHONY TENNER - Idaho

He may be only 5'6, but Sacramento State's Charles Roberts makes up for that with his 4.4 speed. Roberts could become a third down back in the Warrick Dunn mold in the NFL. On the other hand. Chester Taylor and Marcel Schipp (below) are two sleepers who are tough inside runners who both excelled for their teams in 2000.

LARRY NED - San Diego State
CORRELL BUCKHALTER - Nebraska
HODGES MITCHELL - Texas
DEE BROWN - Syracuse
CEDRIC WASHINGTON - Boston College
DAVID ALLEN - Kansas State
DEREK HOMER - Kentucky
JJ MOSES - Iowa State
DEREK COMBS - Ohio State
REGGIE WHITE - Oklahoma State (JR)

Kansas Stae's David Allen is a gamebreaking return man, that may have to be his niche in the NFL. He may also have to become a third down specialist.

Cedric Cobbs has the ability to be a top five pick. At 6'2, 200lbs, he is big and also fast (4.3). An injury put him out for the 2000 season, but expect him back for a strong 2001.

Michigan State's TJ Duckett, a huge and bruising back very much in the Jerome Bettis mold has two remaining years of elligibility. Whether or not he chooses to use both of them remains to be seen.
